You
can breathe high alpine air and observe the wild forested
ecologically preserved oasis called Zumberak Nature Park
:
-You can pedal your mountain bike on marked bike paths
-In your mountain shoes you can follow the many hiking
trails that are marked with red-white circles. You can
rent a four legged beauty and explore the region on horseback
- You can descend from the mountains to the canyons of
slapnica river, step into the fast stream and patiently
wait for a bite of a trout
- Or you can take your smart hunting dog and rifle, climb
a hill and hunt for wild boar and other gam
-You can wander hour after hour, listening to the silence
of the forest, or the crinkling of dry leaves under
your feet, or the sound of wind through the crowns of
centuries old oak trees. This is the place to empty
your head of all disturbing thoughts, embrace only the
tree trunks and see no one except maybe a lost Bambi,
and if you're lucky, maybe even a forest fairy
-If you prefer a working vacation,
you can grab a peasant's scythe and cut grass, take a
shovel and dig a garden, plant flowers, rake leaves, help
the neighbor load the hay in his horse drawn wagon and
take a ride on the top of the hay
-You can help with the milking the neighbor's cow, groom
the horses, or clean the stable. Were your ambitions
ever to be a shepherd? Here's your chance to fulfill
your dreams on a nearby sheep ranch:
-If there is a courageous and fearless Indiana Jones in
you, then take the time to climb trees, discover waterfalls,
and caves. The wilderness calls you
-And nothing can match the idyllic peacefulness that winter
in the Zumberak Nature Park can bring
